On Saturday, the region around the capital Kyiv was the scene of devastating Russian attacks, resulting in the death of three people, including a child, according to statements from Timur Tkachenko, the head of the regional administration.
The attacks took place in three localities in the Borispil district, located near the capital, and three other people were injured as a result of the incidents. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported fires in two neighborhoods of the city, following an air raid alert. Witnesses reported strong explosions that shook the city center, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Ukraine is facing a chronic lack of effective air defense systems, unable to shoot down Russian ballistic missiles, which exacerbates the risks for the population.
