It has a range considered "unlimited" and is capable of evading U.S. missile defense systems. The missile, known as SSC-X-9 Skyfall by NATO, traveled 14,000 km during the test on October 21, remaining in the air for approximately 15 hours.

Burevestnik is designed to fly at low altitudes, making it harder to detect, but Western experts suggest that its subsonic speed makes it vulnerable. Although Putin described it as unique, some analysts believe it does not bring new capabilities for Russia.
