Ghelendjik airport on the Black Sea coast will reopen after being closed for security reasons following the Russian offensive on Ukraine in 2022. It is one of 11 airports in southern Russia closed due to the risk of Ukrainian air strikes. The Russian Civil Aviation Agency announced the resumption of flights starting Thursday, and Aeroflot will launch flights on the Moscow-Ghelendzhik route from July 18.
