Dmitri Bakanov, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, announced that Russia is open to cooperation with the USA in the space domain after the closure of the International Space Station (ISS). In an interview, he mentioned that both parties have shared technical information and that there is a possibility of collaboration in orbit.

Bakanov emphasized that, despite the tensions between the two countries, mutual support is essential for the functioning of the ISS. He also supported the US proposal to extend the operation of the station until 2030, considering it an opportunity for additional experiments.

However, he reaffirmed Russia's plans to develop its own Russian Orbital Station, with the first module scheduled for 2028. The ISS, active since 1998, will be decommissioned at the end of 2030, allowing the participating countries to focus on lunar and Martian missions.
