Oana Ţoiu, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced in the Executive meeting the adoption of the memorandum for Romania's participation in the European program EastInvest. This program will provide 20 billion euros to improve living conditions in border regions, such as Moldova and the Danube Delta, thus helping to attract investments and increase security for the residents of these areas.
Ţoiu emphasized the economic importance of security at the eastern border, stating that resilience depends on economic strength. The EastInvest program will facilitate access for municipalities and businesses to financing and consulting for projects in areas such as logistics, energy, and digitalization.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, has collaborated to implement this memorandum, and the involvement of the European Commission is essential for securing jobs in these regions.
