This victory comes during a period of deep economic crisis, after two decades of socialist governments. Paz, a moderate politician, promised an approach of "capitalism for all," focused on decentralization and budgetary rigor. Upon the announcement of the results, his supporters celebrated in the streets, expressing their hope for a new course for the country.

The new president will replace Luis Arce, who withdrew from running due to low popularity. Rodrigo Paz will need to form alliances in Parliament, considering that he does not have a majority. He faces significant economic challenges, including high inflation and fuel shortages, and will have to manage the opposition of Evo Morales, who remains popular among the indigenous people.
