The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced that France has blocked the participation of Israeli companies in the international defense exhibition EUROSATORY, which will take place at the end of this month in Paris. Israeli officials described the measure as "shameful" and accused the French authorities of discrimination against Israel's defense industry.
At this year's edition of the Eurosatory exhibition, which will be held from June 15 to 19 in Paris, Israeli exhibitors will only be able to present ballistic and air defense systems, according to statements by the president of COGES Events, Charles Beaudouin. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has contested this decision, seeking clarifications and criticizing the impossibility of participating with a national pavilion.
"This is a choice of the French government, of the Defense Council. And, personally, I believe that this has the merit of being clear,” Beaudouin stated. "There is no possible ambiguity: if an exhibitor is also a missile manufacturer, he will not be able to show them. This avoids any offensive weapon,” he explained.
The Israeli ministry characterized the decision as shameful and linked it to a political calculation, highlighting France's problematic behavior in relation to Israel in recent years. France condemned Israel's attacks on Lebanon and called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following recent events.
