Tim Allan, the communications director for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, announced his resignation on Monday, in the context of the turmoil generated by the Epstein scandal. Allan, who was an advisor to Tony Blair, expressed his desire to allow the formation of a new team at Downing Street 10.

His resignation comes after Morgan McSweeney, Starmer's chief of staff, stepped down, taking responsibility for the appointment of Peter Mandelson as the UK ambassador to the US, despite his connections to Epstein. Starmer has apologized to Epstein's victims but is facing severe criticism from colleagues in the Labour Party, who are calling for his resignation. Mandelson, a former minister, is now under investigation for possible misconduct in public office, which amplifies the crisis in the British government.
