Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic has resigned to facilitate the formation of a new government following the conviction of Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik. Viskovic said his retirement was a contribution to building a broader consensus in the entity in the face of the verdict against Dodik, who was sentenced to one year in prison. Despite the legal problems, Dodik has announced a referendum to test his support among the population.
