A train accident occurred on Thursday near the city of Cartagena, Spain, when a commuter train collided with a crane, slightly injuring several people. The railway operator Adif confirmed that traffic on the line was interrupted, stating that the crane did not belong to any railway operation. Fortunately, the train did not derail and did not overturn. This incident is the third train accident in Spain in just one week, following a fatal collision between two high-speed trains in Andalusia, which resulted in the deaths of 43 people, and two other accidents in Catalonia. The SEMAF union announced a three-day national strike to demand railway safety measures. Recent accidents have raised concerns about the state of railway infrastructure and safety systems, and authorities are conducting an investigation to determine responsibilities.
