On Sunday evening, two trains collided in western Slovakia, injuring dozens of passengers. Approximately 800 people were on board the trains that were traveling between Svaty Jur and Pezinok, 20 kilometers north of Bratislava. Slovak Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok stated that most of the injuries were minor, and eleven people were transported to the hospital, with no fatalities reported. The regional police described the scene as "chaos," with hundreds of emergency responders at the site. The accident involved the Tatran express train and a regional train, and authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the collision, which was caused by a train passing a red signal. Both drivers tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
