On Monday morning, a train traveling between Glasgow and Euston Station in London derailed near the locality of Shap, in Cumbria, due to a landslide. The incident, which occurred at 6:10 AM local time, led to the evacuation of 85 passengers. According to the Transport Police, the locomotive came off the tracks but remained in an upright position. The network manager, Network Rail, mentioned that the area was affected by severe weather conditions, with heavy rains exacerbating the situation. Although four people sustained minor injuries, none required hospitalization.
