Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) is looking for a buyer for its subsidiary in Russia, being under pressure from the US and EU to reduce its activities in this country. Director Johann Strobl stated that discussions are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached. RBI abandoned a deal with the Strabag company due to risks related to sanctions, and is now facing a court decision in Russia to pay damages of approximately two billion euros. Austrian authorities are exploring options to unlock Strabag's assets to compensate the bank.
