The dismissal of Roman Starovoit, Russia's transport minister, was announced by a Kremlin decree, without official explanation. It came after a weekend in which drone attacks in Ukraine led to the cancellation of 485 flights and significant delays, affecting tens of thousands of passengers. Airlines had to return tickets and incur high costs for accommodation and food. Starovoit, a former governor of the Kursk region, took over the ministry in 2024.
