Vladimir Putin ratified a government agreement with India that regulates the reciprocal sending of personnel and military equipment. This agreement applies during joint military exercises and includes the deployment of troops for training and intervention in case of emergencies, such as natural disasters.
The agreement also facilitates the use of airspace and port calls for the warships of both countries. Relations between Russia and India have strengthened, especially after the start of the war in Ukraine, with India becoming the largest importer of Russian oil, purchasing hydrocarbons at reduced prices, which accounts for over a third of its total oil supply.
