Russian President Vladimir Putin has been invited to join the "Council for Peace," proposed by the United States for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, Russia is currently analyzing the details of this offer.

The initiative has been addressed to leaders from several countries, including France, Germany, and Canada, as well as the King of Jordan, Abdullah, and the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, and aims initially to end the conflict in Gaza, later expanding to other global conflicts.

Romania has confirmed receipt of the invitation, but the presidential advisor for national security, Marius Lazurca, emphasized that a detailed analysis is necessary before responding. Lazurca mentioned that the initiative could engage Romania in the medium term and that it is important to fully understand its implications.

According to the draft statute, Trump would be the first president of this council and would also decide who will be invited to become a member. Decisions would be made by majority vote, with each member state present having one vote, but all would be subject to the president's approval, writes HotNews. On the other hand, the invitation also comes with a price tag; a permanent seat in the new Council for Peace costs at least 1 billion dollars.
