Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) had a phone conversation on Thursday in which they addressed the situation in the Middle East and cooperation within OPEC+. According to the Kremlin, the discussions focused on the deteriorating military and political situation in the region, including the impact on civilians and strategic infrastructure.

The two leaders emphasized the need for a swift ceasefire and the intensification of diplomatic efforts to find a solution to the conflict. Putin and MBS noted that disruptions related to energy production and transportation affect global energy security, and the statement highlighted the importance of cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia within OPEC+ to maintain stability in the oil market.
