Chung Dong-young, the South Korean Minister of Unification, stated that there is a high chance that U.S. President Donald Trump will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during his visit to South Korea, scheduled for next week. Trump will participate in the APEC summit on November 29, and officials from his administration have informally discussed organizing a meeting with Kim.
Seoul emphasized the importance of this opportunity, urging both leaders not to miss it. Trump has previously expressed a desire to meet with Kim, mentioning that he gets along well with him. Kim Jong Un stated that he is open to resuming contact with the U.S., but on the condition that Washington abandons its denuclearization demands.
