In his first general audience with the public, Pope Leo XIV made an urgent appeal to Israel to allow adequate humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, highlighting the suffering of children, the elderly and the sick in the area. Criticizing the situation in Gaza, he said the aid received is insufficient, according to the NGO Médecins sans Frontières, which accuses Israel of blocking access to essential resources. The Pope reiterated the need to end hostilities and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
