Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Polish Minister of Defense, raised an alarm on Wednesday regarding a new Russian law that justifies military interventions in foreign affairs to defend the cultural and linguistic rights of Russian citizens. He emphasized that this law could lead to a "progressive intensification" of challenges from Russia.

In recent weeks, Poland has intercepted Russian military aircraft in the Baltic Sea and shot down Russian drones on Romanian territory. Kosiniak-Kamysz mentioned that Russia claims the rights of Russian citizens are threatened in the Baltic states, which could justify provocative actions from Moscow.

Although he does not anticipate an imminent conventional attack on Poland, he warned about the use of drones captured by Russia for false flag attacks. In the event of an attack, Poland could activate Articles 4 and 5 of the NATO Treaty, which involve a collective response from member states.
