Polish authorities have announced the detention of a man of Belarusian citizenship, Pavlov T., suspected of espionage in favor of the military intelligence services of Belarus. This action was communicated by prosecutors in a tense regional context, in which Poland warns about attempts by Russia and Belarus to destabilize states that support Ukraine. Poland's relations with Belarus have deteriorated since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and Belarus has been accused of facilitating hostile actions. Pavlov T. has been placed in preventive detention for three months and risks a sentence of at least five years in prison.

Prosecutors claim that he collected information in Poland, Germany, and Lithuania, including about critical infrastructure essential for national security and NATO defense. The investigation is ongoing, and Polish authorities will provide additional information during the judicial proceedings.
