Philip Morris International (PMI) has published its first report prepared in accordance with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The document assesses nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities across the company’s entire global value chain.
The report marks a new development in PMI’s environmental strategy and aims to clarify how ecosystem resilience can influence business performance, agricultural production, manufacturing activities and access to raw materials. The company says the information will be used to strengthen operational resilience and guide strategic decisions.
Nature is one of the six priorities of PMI’s Value 2030+ Plan, alongside consumers, circularity, climate, employees and the value-chain workforce. The TNFD report complements the 2025 Climate Transition Plan, prepared in accordance with the TCFD framework.
The document also includes “Impact Stories,” featuring examples of projects focused on responsible water management, biodiversity protection, soil restoration and product circularity. The report should be read together with PMI’s annual Value Report, which presents the company’s sustainability performance and progress.
