The ancient gold bracelet, 3,000 years old, which disappeared from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo on September 9, was found melted down by the thieves who stole it, according to an announcement made Thursday by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior. The incident occurred shortly before the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, highlighting issues related to the theft of antiquities in the country.
