The former U.S. Attorney General, Pam Bondi, announced that she will not appear at the Congressional hearing regarding the handling of Jeffrey Epstein's cases, causing political tensions. The Congressional Oversight Committee is investigating how the Department of Justice handled the cases involving Epstein, and Bondi has been subpoenaed as a former attorney general.

The Department of Justice confirmed that Bondi will not testify on April 14, citing her recent dismissal by President Donald Trump. Representative Robert Garcia accused Bondi of trying to evade responsibility, emphasizing that her dismissal does not diminish her legal obligations. Additional pressure comes from members of both parties, who insist that Bondi must appear to provide explanations about the handling of the Epstein cases.

Criticism of her has intensified, and Congress continues to seek answers regarding the irregularities in the Department of Justice investigations. Bondi has been accused of delaying justice in the Epstein case, and her refusal to cooperate with Congress has generated strong reactions from lawmakers.
