In a post on X, the Pakistani Prime Minister, Sharif, expressed Pakistan's solidarity with Iran and condemned the Israeli attacks. He thanked Pezeshkian for recognizing Pakistan's efforts to promote peace and dialogue in the region. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced a meeting in Islamabad with counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt to discuss de-escalation of tensions. They will also meet with Sharif during the two-day discussions. Pakistan is offering to be a potential mediator between the US and Iran, considering that it has conveyed Tehran the proposal for a ceasefire from Washington. Iran, on the other hand, is reviewing the American proposal, which an official deemed unilateral, and has presented its own five-point plan, which includes demands such as cessation of hostilities and security guarantees.
