The independent Russian publication Mediazona, in collaboration with the BBC, has confirmed the identities of 163,606 Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine, with 7,445 names added since the last update. Journalists emphasize that the actual figures could be much higher, considering that the information comes from public sources, such as obituaries and official statements. Among the killed soldiers, nearly 54,000 were volunteers, about 20,000 were recruited prisoners, and 16,500 were mobilized soldiers, including over 6,300 officers. Previous estimates suggest that the total number of Russian deaths could reach 220,000. Although Russia has suffered heavy losses, it has managed to make marginal advances on the front, recruiting new soldiers. In contrast, Ukraine is facing a personnel crisis, with about 2 million Ukrainians seeking to avoid mobilization. The Ukrainian General Staff estimates Russia's total losses at 1,225,590 soldiers, including dead and wounded, according to estimates from Western intelligence agencies.
