North Korean soldiers deployed in Russia to fight against Ukraine have been killed or wounded in 'hopeless' attacks in Kursk.

White House spokesman John Kirby said more than 1,000 North Korean soldiers were killed or wounded in attacks on Ukrainian positions in Kursk. He stressed that North Korean forces appear to be used as 'sacrificial' troops by Russian and North Korean military leaders.
