The state of Oregon has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to block the deployment of the National Guard in the city of Portland

The lawsuit, filed against President Trump and some officials from the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, requests a federal court to stop the deployment of troops to Portland. Oregon and local authorities argue that there is no threat to justify military intervention, noting that recent protests have been minor. Although crime statistics show overall stability, Governor Tina Kotek states that Trump's actions are illegal and do not contribute to the safety of residents.
