A drilling rig in southeast Turkey collapsed, killing an engineer and injuring two workers. The accident happened in Sirnak province.

The accident took place at a drilling site on Mount Gabar in an area marked by armed conflict. Sirnak province borders autonomous Kurdistan and has been at the center of armed clashes between the Turkish government and the PKK. One worker survived with minor injuries and another was rescued and taken to hospital by helicopter.
