The Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery, part of the Rosneft group, was forced to completely suspend operations following a drone attack that caused significant damage to production infrastructure. According to Reuters, primary processing of crude oil was halted after the CDU-11 unit, with a capacity of nearly 19,000 metric tons per day, was hit by Ukrainian kamikaze drones. Another unit, CDU-9, was already non-operational before the attack. Industry sources confirmed that resuming production will not be possible before the beginning of November. On the night of October 19, residents of Novokuibyshevsk reported explosions and fires near the refinery, and images on social media showed a large column of smoke above the industrial complex.
