The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated on Tuesday that North Korean ballistic missiles were used in the recent attack by Russia, which took place on the night from Monday to Tuesday, in Zaporizhzhia, causing the death of six people and injuring at least 19.
The mayor of the city, Rehina Harcenko, reported damage to four residential blocks and several non-residential buildings. Zelensky described the attack as brutal and aimed at causing maximum damage to civilian infrastructure.
Relations between Russia and North Korea have strengthened in the context of the war in Ukraine, with Kim Jong Un promising assistance to Russia.
The attacks also targeted other cities, including Kyiv, where a hospital was affected. Zelensky emphasized that Russia's actions indicate an escalation of the conflict, calling on Western allies to support Ukraine's air defense.
