North Korea will build a new 5,000-ton destroyer, due for completion in 2026, after launching two similar ships.

KCNA news agency reported that North Korea plans to build a 5,000-ton destroyer, the third of the Choe Hyon class, with a completion deadline set for October 10, 2026, the anniversary of the Workers' Party. Workers at the Nampo shipyard have been urged to meet the deadline to support the development of the armed forces. Recently, another ship had an incident at the launch and four people were arrested for negligence.
