The rapper Nicki Minaj was the surprise guest of the fourth day of the AmericaFest conference, organized by Turning Point USA in Phoenix, Arizona. The artist participated in a question and answer session moderated by Erika Kirk, the current leader of the conservative organization.
During the discussion, Minaj reaffirmed her public support for President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, whom she described as "people with soul" and "necessary role models for young men." This marked a shift in her position compared to her previous criticisms of Republicans, with the artist explaining that the current administration "makes her feel proud."
The dialogue with Erika Kirk, the widow of founder Charlie Kirk, also touched on foreign policy topics, with Minaj reiterating themes from her speech at the UN in November 2025 regarding the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Additionally, the star used the rhetoric of the conservative camp against California Governor Gavin Newsom, calling him "New-scum."
Asked about the negative reactions from the entertainment industry, Nicki Minaj stated: "I didn't even notice them. We don't think about them. We are the cool kids now."
