Israel has decided to exclude the Spanish representatives from the coordination center in Kiryat Gat

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the exclusion of Spanish representatives from the Military-Civil Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat, accusing Spain of hypocrisy and hostility towards Israel. The statements were made in a video message, in which Netanyahu criticized Madrid for its attacks on the state of Israel, instead of confronting terrorist regimes. Israel's Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa'ar, confirmed the decision, mentioning that Spain has acted against the interests of Israel and the United States.

The Coordination Center, created under American supervision, is responsible for verifying compliance with the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and for overseeing the delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza. Tensions between Israel and Spain have increased after Madrid recognized the Palestinian state in 2024, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez criticized Israeli military operations. Spain's exclusion from this international control mechanism complicates diplomatic relations and raises questions about the future coordination between the states involved in monitoring the ceasefire.
