After months of intense negotiations, the EU has reached an agreement on combating violence against women and girls. However, the final text does not include a common definition of rape, which was the most controversial point of the negotiations. Several EU countries, including France, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, blocked the inclusion of a common definition of rape.
