The flames have destroyed over 800 hectares of vegetation, and the San Giuliano Terme Municipality announced that the wind has contributed to the spread of the fire towards the village of Asciano.

Authorities have mobilized Canadair planes and helicopters to combat the fire, and firefighters have deployed 19 vehicles in the intervention operations.
