The Polish president Karol Nawrocki stated, in an interview with BBC Radio Four, that the relations between the USA and Denmark should remain an exclusive matter between Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and President Trump, without European influence.

He dismissed concerns regarding Trump's statements, including threats to take over Greenland, and acknowledged the USA's concerns regarding Russia and China, considered direct threats to Greenland and North America's security.

Nawrocki criticized the position of the center-left government in Poland, led by Donald Tusk, which supported Denmark and warned that the dispute could affect NATO cohesion. Tusk signed a joint statement with European leaders, and Germany announced the deployment of troops to Greenland. Nawrocki emphasized the crucial role of the USA in Europe's security, stating that Russia remains a threat and that Trump is the leader capable of addressing this issue.

“Russia is still a threat to Europe, and Donald Trump is the only leader who can solve this problem, and we must support him in this process,” Nawrocki said.

He criticized the EU leadership for focusing on ideological issues, such as climate policy and migration, to the detriment of economic and military security. Although he criticizes the current direction of the EU, Nawrocki stated that he wishes to keep Poland in the European bloc, emphasizing the need for reforms to support the transatlantic alliance.
