The launch of NATO's Arctic Sentry mission could take place this week, during the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, according to diplomatic sources.

The operation will include military exercises, enhanced surveillance, and the use of ships and aircraft, including drones, but it will focus on the efficient use of existing resources in the region, rather than the deployment of new forces. The mission is part of NATO's efforts to strengthen deterrence and defense in the face of Russia's military activities and China's increased interest in the Arctic region.

The Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, mentioned that the planning of the mission is in its final stages and that a detailed briefing will be presented soon.
