At a meeting of the NATO Military Committee, Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone stated that the alliance is prepared for a global repositioning of U.S. military forces, including a possible reduction of their presence in Europe. In the context of recent Russian incursions into the airspace of Poland and Romania, NATO will intensify Operation 'Eastern Sentinel'. Additionally, Latvia would be willing to host NATO aircraft equipped with nuclear weapons to send a deterrent signal.
