The leader of the nationalist Revival party, Kostadin Kostadinov, led protests against the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, at the Vazov mechanical engineering plants in Sopot. The demonstrations were motivated by opposition to Bulgaria's European integration and calls for withdrawal from NATO. The protesters, carrying Bulgarian and Russian flags, attacked the vehicle believed to be transporting von der Leyen, and Kostadinov had a conflict with the police, accusing them of wanting to hit him.
