Protesters, including actress Gal Gadot, blocked streets and waved Israeli flags. Netanyahu has said the hostages' release hinges on the defeat of Hamas and his government is preparing for an offensive in Gaza, raising concerns among the hostages' families. Criticism of the plan to occupy Gaza has come from inside and outside the country, as the conflict has led to significant loss of life.
