The damage to the Sweden-Latvia submarine cable in the Baltic Sea was an accident, not an act of sabotage, according to an investigation by the Stockholm prosecutor's office.

The incident took place on January 26 and was just one of a series of similar incidents that has taken place in recent months, sparking a hunt to find the suspected vessels. The Baltic Sea region is on high alert after a series of disruptions to power cables, telecommunications links and gas pipelines.
