Mojtaba Khamenei, appointed Supreme Leader of Iran after the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, following an Israeli bombing on February 28, has suffered serious injuries in the attack. According to the New York Times, he has undergone several surgeries and is in a precarious health condition, having burns on his face and difficulties speaking. Despite being injured, Khamenei remains lucid and active, delegating decision-making power to generals of the Revolutionary Guard. Currently, he is in a secret location, surrounded by a medical team, and communicates through written messages. The Revolutionary Guards consider the war with the US and Israel a threat to the regime, but assert that the situation is under control.
