Rosfinmonitoring, the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation, has included former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, economist Sergei Guriev, and the editor-in-chief of 'Novaia Gazeta Europa', Kirill Martinov, on the list of 'terrorists and extremists'. According to the legislation, banks are required to block the funds of these individuals. All three live abroad and are part of the 'Anti-War Committee of Russia', which has been declared 'undesirable' in Russia.
The FSB has opened a criminal case against the committee members for 'violent seizure of power' and 'organizing a terrorist community'. Kasyanov, who was Prime Minister from 2000 to 2004, was involved in creating the coalition 'For a Corruption-Free Russia' and the 'Party of People's Freedom', dissolved in 2023. Recently, other committee members have been added to the 'terrorists' list, and the FSB claims that they finance Ukrainian nationalist organizations and recruit for them. The committee is dedicated to supporting individuals who oppose the war initiated by the Kremlin.
