Meta is testing monthly subscriptions for Instagram with exclusive features

Meta is exploring the possibility of launching a monthly subscription for Instagram, in an attempt to diversify revenues beyond advertising. Users in the Philippines and Mexico have recently noticed features labeled as exclusive, called Instagram Plus, which suggest a future subscription option. The company has confirmed that it is testing such a service, currently available only in certain countries.

The included features focus on the Stories format, providing users with more information and audience targeting options. Among these is 'Spotlight Story', which allows a post in Story format to remain visible for more than 24 hours. Subscription prices are affordable, being around 1 dollar in the Philippines and 2.15 dollars in Mexico, with Meta's main goal being to attract brands to increase their revenues.
