Meta Platforms will acquire a 49% stake in the startup Scale AI, known for providing the labeled data needed to train artificial intelligence models, for $14.8 billion. The deal also includes the launch of a new AI research lab, led by Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang, aimed at developing 'superintelligence'. Meta continues to invest heavily in AI, with planned capital spending of up to $65 billion on infrastructure this year.
