A tragic maritime accident occurred off the coast of Libya, where a rubber boat carrying migrants capsized, resulting in the disappearance of 42 people, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Of the 49 passengers, only 7 were rescued, having spent six days at sea before being recovered. Most of the missing are from Sudan, Somalia, Cameroon, and Nigeria.

At the same time, another incident was reported near the island of Crete, where a boat sank, causing the death of at least three people. Although the number of migrants arriving in the European Union has decreased, the risks remain high, and the organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) announced the resumption of rescue operations in the Mediterranean with a new ship, after suspending previous activities due to political challenges.
