The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is proposing that Google be granted "strategic market status", which would allow stricter regulation of its search services. This could spur innovation and provide more transparency with content publishers. Google, with a market share of more than 90% in the UK, disputes the allegations of anti-competitive behavior, but the CMA plans to impose measures to limit the power of the tech giants.
