Google, part of the Alphabet Group, has announced that it will change its terms to allow app developers to direct customers to external offerings, in response to European Commission allegations that it is in breach of the Digital Markets Act. Regulators allege Google is limiting developers' options and charging excessive fees for its services. Although Google is expressing concerns about possible risks to users, the company is updating its External Offers program, risking significant fines if found guilty.
