Marco Rubio, the American Secretary of State, will make a visit to Israel on March 2-3, according to an announcement made by the State Department. This visit comes amid the mobilization of a significant military force by the United States in the region, in the context of rising tensions with Iran. Rubio will discuss not only Iran but also other regional topics, including the situation in Lebanon and the peace plan for Gaza proposed by President Donald Trump.

The visit, initially scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed to Monday, and, in an unusual situation, will not be accompanied by accredited journalists. At the same time, the United States has recommended non-essential personnel at the embassy in Jerusalem to leave Israel, and China and the United Kingdom have issued similar warnings for their citizens in Iran, citing increased security risks.
